Are there any benefits to living in Loveland over Fort Collins?

And vice versa?

Loveland is ABOUT 1/2 the population, a little quieter and laid back. Fort Collins has some WONDERFUL unique shopping and many, many places to go eat and drink - - although..... there IS Centerra just barely East of I-25. Typicaly, the home prices are a bit less in Loveland too, but once you're here, you'll know where you "fit" :-)

For commuters to the Denver/Longmont/Boulder area you will save around 10-15 minutes of driving if you love on the Loveland side rather than up a bit more north into Fort Collins. I have also heard that the schools and neighborhoods are just as nice but the real estate is a bit more affordable than in most parts of Fort Collins. But in many ways they are very similar and one seems to blend into the other in many ways.

I moved from Montrose, CO (Western Slope) to loveland, CO over a year ago. I've gone to Fort Collins and find Fort Collins much more well designed city wise. I don't do MJ but it is available there for purchase , but not in Loveland. I moved to an apt that is right off 34 or Eisenhower Blvd. I avoid that road at all costs. There are so many roundabouts in Loveland that even following a GPS is confusing ! Fort Collins is much less confusing to navigate. I like their city design. There is a main road but it is not an interstate with large loud trucks everywhere . They have many great stores, eateries, etc. (t is a college town so lots of young people) live there.
Fort Collins served as the primary inspiration for Disneyland's Main St. They have many street fairs and festivals. Whilst Loveland, CO Downtown has been under construction so I rarely go there . They do have a few cute eateries and even alley dining but unfortunately they lack funds for such things as firework festivities whereas Fort Collins who has more money or better money management ? Has wonderful full day 4th festivities. I have found that the towns in CO who allow sale of recreational MJ have more money and are therefore better able to afford things like construction, festivals etc.
Loveland is more conservative politically while Fort Collins tends to lean left due to people who are more educated, younger population, and more women.
This is not a judgement but a fact. Loveland has some great sculpture parks and has so many 55 plus apartments . But I have found they if they call them selves ACTIVE it means you are on your own as far as rules and smoking go. In other words that word prevents them from enforcing their rules or interfering or keeping an eye on anyone. If there is a complaint the person complaining better have video proof or hire a private Eye! I feel upcoming legislation is needed here but that is my opinion .
I find Fort Collins to be more pleasant esthetically , has more money to offer more therefore it has more to offer. I feel like they try very hard to take care of their people as far as affordable housing options are concerned as well. I hope this helps
