Are there any local charities unique to the Manhasset area?

Manhasset is a very social active community with many strong charitable organizations, who are open to new volunteers. One of my favorites is the Manhasset Women's Coalition Against Breast Cancer. This group hosts several fundraising events throughout the year, including a 5K in October, a tennis event, a junior event for high school students and a ladies night out dinner with over 500 in attendance. The group's funds support many research initiatives and outreach services to those in our community in need.
