Canada Geese slaughtered in Prospect Park
Just came across this awful article in the NYT that mentions that 400 Canada Geese in Prospect Park were gassed in order to control their population for they are allegedly hazardous to aircraft that use the NYC airports-JFK and La Guardia Airport both of which are located within 6 miles of Prospect Park.

While I do realize the dangers that birds pose to flights, can't help wondering if an alternative solution to the gassing of the birds could be found?
