"A subdivision of Aurora located close to I-225"
Meadowood is located between Parker Road and I-225 just southeast of Heather Gardens. This is traditionally a busy part of town with I-225 getting very backed up and Parker Road being just as busy. However, in the last few years they have really made some changes to Parker Road in an effort to decrease congestion in this part of town. It has greatly improved it, but due to the amount of traffic in this area it will always be a crowded place to drive. Due to this it is difficult to get into and out of this neighborhood. While you're in the neighborhood it is fine though.
There are mostly single family homes in this area with lots of parks, churches and an elementary school in the area. Some of the homes have begun to show their age and look unkept, giving the area an overall impression of being a bit run down. This isn't the case for all the streets, but when you drive by on S Chambers Road, you can see the dreary look of the place in many areas. There are also numerous businesses, mostly located on East Hampden Avenue. There is a retirement village, nursing center and many places for sports and fitness, such as a roller skating rink, gymnastics school and recreation center.
Overall this is a family type area with lots to do within the neighborhood. However, what you can't find in this area is often just minutes away.
