What is it like living in the New Rochelle area?
So many people ask me this question. I guess everyone has their own preferences, their own answers. New Rochelle offers award winning schools, great sports programs, art programs, horticultural programs, and great on-going programs at our local library. The elementary school children can learn Chinese, enroll in a dual language program such as Italian or Spanish (Jefferson), participate in the TAG (Talented and Gifted Program) if qualified, and enroll in the PAVE (Performing and Visual Arts Education Program) at our High School if desired..We have wonderful beach clubs, parks, tennis, private schools (if desired), so many Houses of Worship, gyms, fun restaurants, adult education and colleges too. I love the easy accessibility to the city (30 minutes by express train and I have made the upper West Side in 20 minutes by care on a Saturay evening! You are close to great shopping (Woodbury Commons, The Westchester Mall and don't the forget the White Plains Performing Arts Center where you can enjoy culture at a fraction of the cost than if you were to go to Broadway. We have supermarkets galore, and don't forget the Home Dept of Costco too ... and we have wonderful parks, hiking, beach clubs, and a park for our pet dogs also. Community gardens and programs to help our less fortunate. New Rochelle is GREAT!
