First Night 2009
Of course we all know about the ball dropping in Times Square, but where are there more family friendly "first night" celebrations in the metro area? I have only found New Rochelle, the others are way upstate.

And of course, there is the Central park run, and the big party in Brooklyn with fireworks at Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Park. There's a Bike Ride, and the Brooklyn Bridge walk too. The bike ride is free, the walk is $50 with NY Walking tours.
