Layoffs at MTA Begin
I don't know if anyone heard, but according to NY1, 250 station agents have been laid off. The MTA will layoff a lot more in an effort to deal with an $800 million budget shortfall.

Without station agents, people are going to be jumping the turnstiles. The MTA may think that laying off workers will help save their budget, but what they don't consider is the lost in revenue, as riders will sneak in or jump, or do whatever they want to get a free ride. The MTA will lose thousands if not millions of dollars a day by doing station agent cutting.
