NYC Goth Scene?

So, where do the night owls of a decidedly dark persuasion head? I know there's a big punk/goth scene around St. Mark's Place, but I get the impression it's plenty of underage teens and out-of-towners rather than hardcore clubbers. Me, I"ll admit to being partial to the music, especially Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees, but not crazy about the extent of the scene. I like velvet and corsets as much as the next theatre-inclined gal, but I'm not sure I could pull off white makeup, eyeliner, and safety pins through my ears.
