Where has everyone lived in NYC?
I've had the pleasure of living on the upper west side, and then further up by washington heights, and in Astoria Queens, and in Jackson Heights, Queens.
I have family in Yonkers, and in Pelham area of the Bronx.
And in LI, and in NJ. Not really the city, but close by.
I think my first year I had 4 apartments, all due to roommate/boyfriend shakeups and crazy stuff. Then I lived in Astoria, and really liked it. Then Jackson Heights for many years. Another great neighborhood.
How much has everyone moved around since coming to NYC?

I have lived in New York my whole life. I spent the first half of my life in Yonkers. Then at age 11, I moved with my family to the Bronx. I lived in Manhattan for a year. It was fun, conveinent, but very expensive. Mind you, me and my then fiance, were living in one of the cheaper parts of Manhattan. Now we are living in Yonkers again and paying a more reasonable rent for a larger sized apartment. It is at least twice the size of our former place and we are paying only $25 dollars more for it. Plus we are no longer dealing with hundreds of dollars in electric bills like we were in Manhattan.

Hey, Tiger47, go say hi on the Meet the Locals thread. Lots of friendly folks there.
How much is the difference in electric?

Except for a brief stint when I was a baby, I've lived in Carnegie Hill all my life - first on 96th and Madison, then moved round the corner and came back, only to move to 97th and 5th. Current location undisclosed, of course (I'm a student, so away at school), but I'm very much a UES girl at heart. (Even have the Chapin uniform to prove it!)

I was not born in NYC. I actually was born in the south and grew up in NJ. I moved to NYC about 5 years ago. I have moved around. I first lived on Long Island, and then went to live with a friend in Midtown. I then moved to the Bronx for three years. Now I am back living with a friend.

Morningside Heights, NoLita, NoHo, UES, Boerum Hill, E Village, Greenpoint, Park Slope...probably forgot some.

Lower East Side, Williamsburg, Bushwick. Apparently I like hipsters. Looking to move to a more grownup neighborhood though... perhaps Clinton Hill?

Ever since I moved here five years ago I have lived on the UES. I dont think I ever want to leave the neighborhood but circumstances are currently forcing my better half and me to do a stint in Asia for a few years. Previously I have always resisted planned moves to Charlotte and Denver but this time around I don't have a choice. Luckily for us we will always have a base in NYC or I think I would die :)

That reminds me: I spent one glorious summer living in the East Village in an NYU dorm without air conditioning.

Did one summer in Morningside Heights with no air conditioning, right on Broadway so the super-stench of garbage would waft in right off the street, and with the air literally liquid, you couldn't exactly afford to shut the windows.
Oh, and Murray Hill, for some reason, though maybe it would count as Grammercy Park.

I'm not so thrilled about being here in the summer. Many areas stink, especially where homeless are located, and there are a lot of pets around. Other than that, NYC has a lot to offer people no matter what time of year it is.
