Pequenakonck Elementary School is the K-5 school in the North Salem Central School District. The school has a good reputation and seems to emphasize a good social and academic environment for the young students.
Slightly tangential, but it is exciting and new, as the school district has announced this very recently: "The National Association of School Boards has awarded the North Salem Central School District a First Place Award in their prestigious national Magna Award program for our work on problem solving through critical and creative thinking. The Magna Awards recognize districts across the country for outstanding programs that advance student learning and encourage community involvement in our schools."
