"A community jammed packed with people and businesses"
I have never lived in Northglenn but find myself here about twice a week. I am constantly frustrated with the traffic and even on a good day it seems to be backed up. However, the homes all seem to be nice and taken care of and I do have to admit they have some pretty great parks. The E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park puts other parks to shame with it's beauty and the amount of things to do here. While the rec center across the street is very average, the staff is all very friendly and easy going.
There are numerous restaurants and fast food joints on all the major streets, as well as small businesses, banks, and grocery stores. You wouldn't have to go far to get anything you might need. For travelers there are several hotels on the west side of I-25, although they don't seem to detract from the city as a whole.
The schools in the area rank pretty low based on state testing standards, with Northglenn High School currently receiving a 3 on a 1-10 scale (10 being highest), although parents rate it much higher. The elementary schools are closely rated to the high school with 3s and 4s, while the middle schools rate between a 4 and 10. 10 is actually a K-8 school named Hulstrom Options K-8 School. There is such demand to get into Hulstrom that to be fair they use a lottery system. If you're lucky enough to get your child in, they have the opportunity of at learning at one of the few schools in the Denver Metro area to be given such a high rating.
The median home price in Northglenn is $163,000 with the median income just over $48,000.
