"Enjoy Oakdale"
Nice community. Come and Enjoy the movies at the Marcus Theatre, dream loungers in all. The theatre experience is like none other I've experienced.
Oakdale has a variety of restaurants and shopping (even the store they call the "Man's Mall"- Fleet Farm. Its a great store for entire family - not just the men!).
There are plenty of parks, activities and even access to Gateway Trail.

Oakdale City is a suburb of St. Paul in Minnesota. It is located on the eastern part of the Twin Cities Metro District. When it comes to inhabitants, Oakdale ranks as the 32nd biggest city in the state. Oakdale city is the result of the merging of the townships of Northdale and Oakdale.
When it comes to education opportunities, students who live in Oakdale’s southern side generally go to Tartan High School while those who live on the northern side are served by North High School. The city is accessible via so many routes: west via the Minnesota State Highway 120, to the east via Washington County Road 13, north through the Minnesota State Highway 36, and the south via Interstate 94. There are other avenues leading to Oakdale such as the Interstate 694 and Minnesota Highway 5. However, what is considered as the city’s signature street is Hadley Avenue North because it runs the entire length of the city.
There are more than 25 parks within the city Oakdale community and that includes the Oakdale Nature Preserve and what is considered as the city’s jewel, the Discovery Center. This facility is a cornucopia of wildlife exhibits, art works produced by local artists, comfortable seating, and a magnificent outdoor amphitheater all of which are wrapped in a remarkable forest setting. There is a great trail system and a historic schoolhouse just a stone’s throw away from the center. Inside the Center is the Recreation Department where your family can enjoy participating in various events all throughout the year such as Winter Wonderland, Haunted Hayride, and the Mystery Egg Hunt.
The famous Walton Park can be found towards the southern tip of the city. In the park, you will enjoy free musical shows all summer, a farmer’s market that is held every week, a skateboarding area, and the popular Summerfest celebrated every June. You will also be amazed at Fireworks Extravaganza that is held in the park every July.
Living in Oakdale offers so many exciting opportunities. Other fun-filled activities can be had on the city’s neighboring communities. For example, you will have easy access to the State of Minnesota’s Gateway Trail, and for sports enthusiasts, the Oak Marsh Golf Course. For movies, you can always go to the Marcus Oakdale Cinema and the Vali-hi Drive-In. You can also watch events at the Carmike Oakdale Stadium 20 and hike all you want at the Lake Elmo Park Preserve.
Oakdale offers great housing and work opportunities for you and your family. If you want to live a life that is serene and quiet but with the amenities of city life, Oakdale is the place to be.

"Oakdale, MN - A great place to live, work, and play"
We built a home and lived in Oakdale for over 24 years raising our daughters here. Oakdale is a wonderful community for raising a family with very good public schools, and private schools nearby. The attraction for us when deciding where to build was we wanted to be very close to the I-94, I-494, I-694, and Hwy 36 intersections for quick access to employment and education opportunities throughout the Twin Cities.
The West edge of Oakdale butts up to the 3M Center campus making for easy commute for those who want to avoid rush hour and traffic. Oakdale is approximately 15-minutes from downtown St. Paul.
Oakdale has great parks including Tanners Lake with beach access. The community has several large movie theatres for entertainment. Other than a few restaurants and minimal shopping opportunities one is likely going to commute to communities like Woodbury, White Bear, Stillwater, or St. Paul for other options.
