"A small town east of Pueblo"
Ordway is a small town that lies east of Pueblo by about an hour drive. With just over 1,000 residents this small town seems as if everyone knows everyone and there is a good, solid community feel to it. There is a good mix of both a White and Hispanic population in Ordway. As with any small town, the cost of living is much lower than in larger cities as is the income level. The median household income here is almost $25,000 less than the state average, but you can also buy a house here for $$166,000 less than the state average. Although many of the residents work in the retail field, there isn't one dominating industry here.
There are the usual businesses you'd find in a small town here, such as a liquor store, automotive shop, and small grocery store. There are more than a couple of churches here as well. If you drive around town you can still see many of the old churches that have withstood the test of time. There is a cute little Lutheran church which looks as if it has been standing there for years and years.
The schools in Ordway are all about average when it comes to state testing standards. Overall this would be a nice little town for any family looking to live in the country.
