Where is the safest area to live in Peekskill?

That's a tricky question, because Peekskill is a city. I would say the safest place is in the heart of town, but that being said, the low-income housing, Crossroads, is said to have a lot of drug activity and is still high in crime. I live on South Street and I don't hear of many violent happenings here. There are gangs in the area but, like any busy, heavily populated place, you want to watch your back and I wouldn't recommend going out late at night by yourself if you have to; women, walk in groups.
