"A neighborhood that offers apartments and homes which are close to a lot of amenities"
It's been some years, but I used to live in Pheasant Run and did enjoy the neighborhood. At the time I was single and worked nearby so it was a convenient place for me to live. The neighbors were always friendly and nice and there was never anything I didn't like about the area. My daughter now has a friend who lives on the eastern edge of the neighborhood and it hasn't changed much in the last 20 years. There are mostly single family homes with some apartments thrown in. The area has more than it's fair share of parks and when you're inside the neighborhood (not just driving by) it seems to be a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. While there are several busy streets surrounding and going through the neighborhood, traffic is typically not that bad here. Sure, during rush hour it may get busier, but for where it's located the streets are pretty good.
There are a few businesses in the neighborhood, such as a car wash, bank, Starbucks, and a few fast food restaurants, but across Quincy Avenue is a good sized King Soopers and catty corner to the neighborhood is a Safeway, so grocery shopping is just seconds away. Taking a quick drive east on Smoky Hill Road will get you to Southlands Mall which is a great outdoor mall with shopping and dining, as well as bulk and discount stores.
Not far west of Pheasant Run is the Cherry Creek State Park. This reservoir and surrounding area offers a lot in the way of outdoor activities, such as nature walks, bicycling, swimming, and boating.
Kids who live in this neighborhood go to schools in the Cherry Creek School District. Smoky Hill High School is just across Smoky Hill Road and is a good, solid school both in academics and athletics.
I would recommend this neighborhood for families with children and professionals.
