Female professional recent empty nester and divorced looking for the best neighborhood

I am looking to rent as I am just relocating for a new job (will commute to New Jersey) and I am looking for a safe , fun, quaint and "runners friendly" neighborhood. What would you suggest?

I'd recommend parts of West/SW Philly; zip codes 19143 and 19104 in particular. You can easily get to the Walt Whitman or Ben Franklin Bridge from there, the rents are reasonable, and there are plenty of pretty places to run, bike, etc. (I'm a little biased because I live there, but I really like it!)
