I'm moving to Philly what's a great affordable area for a 1 or 2 bedroom?

Close to transport under $800 monthly close to stores not in the ghetto

I think you should look into South Philly, honestly. I know the prices have been increasing a lot due to all the gentrification, but many family homes remain very reasonably priced. The city definitely get safer further south as well. I know a few students renting nice family homes ~$600 in the Pennsport and Whitman area of South Philly. It's definitely safer than West or North Philly; many of the homes belong to family or retirees.

I'd say your best bet would be in West Philly near the colleges and Baltimore Ave, and parts of South Philly near transportation and hip areas still have some places under $800/mo for a 1 br. I'm a real estate agent, so feel free to message me if you like!
