"A quiet little wooded area with lovely homes"
Ponderosa Park lies just east of Franktown on Highway 86 and butts up against Elizabeth. This area is filled with pine tress and gently rolling hills which lead to a scenic beauty all it's own. Most of the homes here are on acreage and many are custom. Homes in this area go for around $100,000 more than the median price for Colorado and people who live here have a median household income of $74,697 which is also considerably higher than the state average.
There is still a lot of natural wildlife in the area which makes this a nice area to be in. During the winter when the snow falls here it is just beautiful. Although there are no stores or amenities in the actual neighborhood, just catty corner to the area is Elizabeth which has a Safeway, Wal-Mart, Starbucks, and a few other stores and gas stations. On the northern side, residents are close to another Wal-Mart a natural grocers, and several strip malls with many restaurant choices which are just at the base of Hilltop Road. Unless you were needing to do some bigger shopping, everything you need is just a few minutes away.
Children who live in this neighborhood have academically highly rated schools to attend, which also offer a variety of sports team to join or try out for. Although there is no real traffic to speak of in this neighborhood, Parker Road which is a major road lies just to the west and can get really backed up at peak travel times.
There aren't any medical facilities in this area, but nearby are two very good hospitals. One is just down Parker Road in the town of Parker and one is a little farther away up Lincoln Avenue. There are numerous doctors, dentists, and orthodontists in the Parker area.
