What are the schools like in Portola, San Francisco?

The schools in Portola, San Francisco are solid but fairly average. You don't have a lot of the problems that you get in some of schools in South SF, but these are also not great schools. Phillip Burton is a good high school and you have a fair number of private schools in the area which are also solid.

Overall, however, given that this is a relatively affordable area, the schools might make for a good option for middle class parents who can't afford some of the pricier areas and schools in other parts of SF.
