Fairview is growing, yes. Not by a whole lot though, as the population only went up about 1.7% from 2000 to 2010. It is becoming busier as Routes 9 and 9G through here are becoming busier with commuters and other traffic. I don't know of any specific housing developments which have been popping up in Fairview, but they are popping up elsewhere in the Poughkeepsie area, so it's within the realm of possibility. I haven't personally noticed a ton of business development lately but new businesses have certainly trickled in over the years.
Household incomes here have been on the rise, though so has inflation in general so I'm not sure that necessarily means a ton. Unemployment here (7.7%) is a little below the state average (8.7%) so that's perhaps more of a sign that Fairview is in better shape than elsewhere.
