A lot of folks speak highly of the outdoor bar at Shadows on the Hudson which has amazing views of the river and the Mid-Hudson bridge. It's a nice to sling back a few signature cocktails while watching the sun set. Mahoney's Irish Pub is another popular local haunt with some great beers on tap and good live music. Other quality pubby places are Mulligan's Irish House and McAuley's Tavern and the Dubliner Irish Pub, which is said to be more authentic Irish and close to Vassar. The Sand Bar has couches and is more reminescent of a Manhattan lounge. Myth is a newcomer of an upscale lounge with Marilyn Monroe decor and people dressing up to the nines. Julliet's Cafe and Billiards is a fun joint which not only has pool but also ping pong, air hockey, video games and pinball. The Chance and the Mad Hatter get more rowdy and their respective bars can get very overcrowded. But if you are there for concerts and a lively time, it is fine.
