There are! If you head down town to the Rawlings Public Library, this area is full of bookshops. One of my favorites is called Tumbleweed Books, on the corner of S Union and Abriendo. It's located inside a tiny old building, owned by a tiny elderly woman, and it's a goldmine for book lovers. The books are strictly pre-owned, but I feel like that's part of the charm of the place - there's a sense of mystery and history within the maze of bookshelves. I've found copies of classics from the eighteen hundreds, still in great condition.
Another treasure of a bookstore is the Bookery, just across the street from Tumbleweed. This bookstore mostly focuses on books and tools for teachers, but they also have lots of local authors and local history. I've found great photography books on Colorado, old manuscripts about the cowboys of the old west, and more. Definitely a good place for history buffs.
