Lake Minnequa is on Pueblo's south side, which is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. As a result, this area can be a little run-down in places. However, the city's been doing a fantastic job of renovating and restoring it. Lake Minnequa was once a beautiful park-like area for the city to enjoy, but in the eighties housing developments took over the recreational community. In recent years, the local government has started up a massive renovation project that includes building new roads and sidewalks, clearing trees, and rebuilding the ponds and wetlands in the neighborhood.
So although this neighborhood's old, it definitely has a lot of potential. This is one of Pueblo's most ambitious projects, and it's easy to see how much work the city is putting into Lake Minnequa.
