What's the best campground close to Pueblo?

For tent camping.

There are quite a few campgrounds in the Beulah and San Isabel area. Beulah campgrounds are probably the closest to Pueblo, and there are a lot of beautiful ones! Rye is another close town with plenty of camping spots. http://www.scout.me/camping--near--beulah-co
