Living in Roseland, Chicago - what to expect, is it safe, lots to do?

Roseland is a ways down south and I don't get there very often because it's not the most fun place. It has too much crime in my opinion, and you can expect to struggle to find anything fun to do. Not a great place overall.

Roseland is kind of far from downtown and has had its share of crime. For cost of living, it is great, but it does leave a lot to be desired in many other areas. There isn't a lot to do here and being far from downtown makes it even more of a challenge with nightlife. I can't say I'd want to live there.
