What is crime like in Roseland, Chicago?

Roseland has quite a bit of crime, and much of it is violent crime, so I'd avoid the neighborhood if at all possible.

Crime in Roseland is higher than the rest of the city--parts of the neighborhood are relatively safe, but you have to be careful to avoid the higher crime areas.
