"Roxborough Park is a beautiful area that includes Roxborough State Park"
Roxborough Park is a lovely area that is next to the base of the mountains and includes Roxborough State Park which is great for hiking and walking trails. The area is for the most part secluded from the rest of the world and is not easy to get to. This can be an issue for anyone who wants a quick trip to work, but in my opinion this is part of what makes this community great. There is only one major way to get into it and this cuts down on traffic and outsiders. While the homes here are nice and bigger single family houses, they are not overly huge. The neighborhood has a couple of restaurants and a Safeway so residents don't need to leave for food. There are also gas stations, coffee shops, and a few smaller businesses. I love the remoteness of this community but yet it has just about most anything you could need. For larger shopping trips there is always Park Meadows Mall, about 25 minutes away.
The state park is just an added bonus to being in this area. Granted, with this park and the proximity of the homes to the mountains there are issues with wildlife you might not get closer to town. There have been bear and mountain lion sightings within the park in recent years, but with the wildlife not knowing boundaries there are obviously occasions where they could visit some of the homes also. One bad thing about the park is that no pets are allowed.
One of the best things about living here would be the scenery. There are gorgeous rock formations as these are the same kinds of rocks that make up Red Rocks. With a backdrop like this it's hard not to imagine how great it would be to wake up everyday and look out your windows.
The population here is just over 9,000. The area has seen a lot of growth in the last 10-15 years. The median household income is $100,000 while the median home price is $297,000. If my husband worked closer this direction, Roxborough Park would be at the top of my list for communities to move to.
