"An interesting hodgepodge"

My elder daughter and I took a house-hunting drive through this section of Nashville a couple of years ago, and I go through here on various errands from time to time. Salemtown was, and remains, an interesting hodgepodge of places.

Dilapidated old multistory wood homes, with the windows out and the porches caving in, sit within a few blocks of newly renovated town homes of a similar design. And these in turn are next to more houses that have been converted to business use.

Some streets are nothing but buildings, concrete, and asphalt. Others offer trees and yards large enough to keep me happy for a while.

In short, it’s a fascinating area, and I wouldn’t mind living down there, depending on the street.

MTA bus route #9 runs up the east side of Salemtown, and route #42 runs down the west side. Not bad, since this area is only a few blocks wide.

"Small Houses and Nice Neighborhood."

Located near Rosa Parks Blvd and I65, the area of Salemtown is located near Germantown, Nashville. The area is home to a number of small homes that have charm and beauty. The homes are among the lower priced homes when compared to other homes in Nashville and areas around Nashville. There are some homes that are newer and taken care of more when compared to other homes in the neighborhood.

The area has a variety of different restaurants to choose from when looking to go out to eat during the week and on weekends. The many different restaurants will offer a different meal each night of the week. When looking for some nightly activities, the parks in the area offer a nice place to sit back and relax while the dog runs around or while the children run loose after a long day at school and a long day at work for you.

The area has a large variety of businesses that keep pretty busy with residents of Nashville stopping in and out on a daily basis. Located along the bus route, if your vehicle breaks down or you simply want to ride the bus to work, there is a bus that you can take to get you to where you need to go in most of Nashville by riding the bus to the bus terminal and hopping on another bus to get where you need to go.

"Charming homes"

Salemtown is bounded by Rosa Parks Blvd, Hume St., 3rd Ave. No., and I-65. It is adjacent to Germantown, East Germantown, Elizabeth Park, and continues the theme of charming new and restored homes evident in those neighborhoods.

Residents are in close proximity to all the trendy restaurants in Germantown. Like those other areas mentioned above, it is near the Farmer's Market, and Jamaicaway Restaurant, Nash Trash Tours, Nashville Jazz Workshop, and also close to downtown and Metro Center. It would be a good area to live in if you worked in one of those areas.
