"Well Established Suburb Full Of Charm"
Sabin, is ideally located in NE Portland and close to downtown and freeways. You will find that this established suburb is full of charm and has a very nice, family feel to it. This highly desirable neighborhood offers affordable homes along quiet streets. You can walk to some of the organic grocery stores, visit a cute boutique or sit and have a beer in one of the few pubs in the area.
Also popular here is the Mocks Crest Natural Area which anyone can visit and explore the wildlife surrounding the area. Most Portland neighborhoods have community gardens and Sabin is no exception. One of the more popular community events is the Sabin Tree Walk. We love our trees in Portland and here you will get the history of some of Sabin’s larger and well established trees. Sabin residents appear to love being close to downtown, but welcome the quiet, suburban lifestyle Sabin has to offer.

"Upscale Neighborhood With Convenient Location"
Sabin's Northeast Portland location means that it is close to everything. Just east, you'll find the popular Alameda neighborhood, while the Alberta arts district lies to the north. An easy commute to downtown, it's close to freeways, making it easy to get anywhere in Portland from Sabin.
The neighborhood itself is an older, established neighborhood with a great small-town feel. Walk along Fremont Street to enjoy a number of coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and shops, or spend an afternoon tending to the community garden. Take the kids to Vernon Tank playground after they get out of school at nearby Sabin Elementary School. 15th Avenue, another popular shopping area, features a natural grocery store and a pizza place.
Homes in Sabin are old and beautiful. Most homes date to the first few decades of the twentieth century, with only a little newer construction mixed in, along with a couple of duplexes and townhouses. The nicest homes tend to be in the Southeast section of the neighborhood (roughly the parts south of Prescott and east of 15th) though overall Sabin is considered a very upscale neighborhood.
These elegant homes feel comfortable and livable. Sabin residents take pride in their community and seem to be very eco-conscious. There's even a neighborhood Tree Walk you can follow to check out the beautiful trees that grow here.

"Old Respectable Neighborhood"
Sabin is a NE Portland area directly North of Irving Park. It is a convenient location as one can get to downtown fairly quickly and it is also just a short trip to the Alberta Arts district from Sabin. This part of town is very sleepy and feels quite safe. It is a good place for families who can afford it.
Most of Sabin is just a short walk from Fremont Street, which has some nice shops and restaurants. For a neighborhood with commerce, Fremont Street always feels quiet and relaxing. One nice spot is Grain and Gristle, which is a really cool gastropub in Sabin. Of course, if you want more activity and nightlife, you can always head up to Alberta.
The homes in Sabin tend to be quite nice, and you can find old homes that have been restored and classic bungalows. Another nice fixture in Sabin is Sabin Community Garden, where people come and take care of their own gardening. There is also the Sabin Neighborhood Tree Walk, which is a tour that allows visitors to appreciate the various old trees in Sabin, which include Sycamores, Redwoods and Red Oaks.
