"Boone is a small town out on the plains from Pueblo"
Boone is a very small community of only 300 or so people. Situated along the HW 50 & HW 96 corridor out east of Pueblo. The town is about 15 miles east of Pueblo. The town was originally named Booneville after Daniel Boone's grandson Albert Gallatin Boone who was the postmaster and indian agent for a bit.
The average household income is about $25,000, lower than average for Colorado. Many people who live in Boone work in Pueblo or work for the county or school district. Many people also work in agriculture/ranching and in the trucking industry.

"A small town east of Pueblo"
Boone is a small town just east of Pueblo by about 25 minutes, which isn't too far for residents of this small town to go and do shopping or dine out. There is a very small grocers in Boone for any necessities, along with a hardware store but other than that, there isn't really much in Boone at all. There is a little school that houses preK - 5th grade. Although students at the school have tested lower than average on state testing standards, the school is gradually showing improvement over the years. The current population of Boone is 339, about 69% white and 27% Hispanic. The median household income here is $26,433 and almost 25% of the population is living below the poverty rate. The average median home price in Boone is also way below the state's average of $237,800 at $57,233.
Boone got it's start as a stop along the railroad many years ago. In town there is the original train depot still standing. It was built in 1913, and later used for the town hall. It's no longer in use, but is in really good condition with what seems to be original parts. As with many of the smaller towns in Colorado, it's neat to see a bit of history still standing after so many years.
