"One of the fastest growing communities in New Mexico. Close to Albuqueruque but totally different."

This was a farming community that is now a "rural suburb" of Albuquerque. It is a quiet place with a few growing pains, but altogether a pretty cool community to live in. Affordable, easy commute to Albuquerque without all the headaches of urban life. Mountains, plains, and great outdoors.
This is part of what is known as the East Mountains, a string of communities along historic route 66 and the turquoise trail. These communities are home to businesses, activities, and a lot of nature and wide open spaces.
We have all the local businesses a small town needs - hardware, grocery, drug store, restaurants, one "big box" store, and several gas stations. Custom flooring, motorcycle shops and dozens of artisans also live and work here. There are lots of great places to ride, hike, run, bike, and enjoy yourself here and nearby. Commuter bus service to Albuquerque is a year old, and other similar services are on the rise. Only thing we need is more recreational youth activities, like a teen oriented business or teen center. The Town of Edgewood is actively working on that, and nearby towns have some great offerings as well as the new Edgewood Community Library.
High speed internet access (cable, dsl) finally became readily available, so now the area is growing with those in the tech and creative industries, business and housing have held steady here despite the rest of the country's ills, and over all I give this place a thumbs up.
