"Falcon Heights Homes & Real Estate"
A suburb of St. Paul, Falcon Heights is located in Ramsey County, in the state of Minnesota. The city is home to a portion of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, the Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakota Life, and the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The city is just ten minutes away from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. It became a city in 1974 and is inhabited by more than 5,000 citizens in neighborhoods that are filled with trees.
For those who want to migrate to a better place, Falcon Heights is an ideal place to raise your kids. The city is served by the Roseville Area School District. For elementary students, there is the Falcon heights Elementary School situated just within the city boundary. Thanks to the establishment of University of Minnesota, Falcon Heights is tagged as one of the best educated cities in the United States. Over 70% of the city’s inhabitants are holders of bachelor degrees or even higher.
Just a bit of national historical trivia, Theodore Roosevelt who was back then still a vice president mentioned the popular “Speak softly and carry a big stick” proverb at the Minnesota Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights. Two weeks after the speech, Roosevelt became president. A portion of the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Jingle All The Way was filmed at the Falcon Heights Elementary School. The world-renowned comic strip Peanuts is also set in the same school.
There are a great number of parks within the Falcon Heights vicinity and this includes the Falcon Heights Community Park, the Curtiss Field which has an ice rink and a warming house for the winter season. Falcon height Elementary has two playgrounds and some basketball courts. The community park has a lot of entertaining amenities such as tennis courts, a softball field, basketball court, soccer filed, barbecue grills, picnic tables, a multipurpose room with kitchen and bathrooms, exercise stations, and walking trails. Other recreational areas are the Grove Park and the Commonwealth Terrace at Fifield Place.
Other equally great attractions in Falcon Heights are the Roseville Visitors Association, the Twin City Model Railroad Museum with is famous O-scale miniature train exhibit, the Les Bolstad Golf Course, and a lot more. At nearby St. Paul, you can visit the Goldstein Museum of Design. For nature lovers, you can visit the Minnesota State Horticultural Society which has recently moved to Roseville. The Falcon Heights Farmers Market has been located in Falcon heights since the year 2003 but has now moved to Roseville.
