"Residential review of Fillmore California"
My husband and I have lived here for three years in a single family residence on a fairly new street (developed in 1999). We started a neighborhood watch group because cars were being broken into and items from porches were being stolen. We also started an Alateen Group at the Faith Community Church on Friday nights for teens whose lives are being affected by a loved one's drinking. The worst aspect of this 15,000+ community are the loose dogs and Mayor Rick Neal's refusal to do anything about it. Since we have lived here, we have rescued/rehomed 18 dogs. I know there are others who are trying to mitigate the un-spayed and un-neutered dog population because I have met them. There are taggers who come into our area but the city is pretty quick about removing the graffiti. There are nice walking paths and only a minimum of diversity as far as restaurants go. You should like Mexican cuisine if you move here! Our neighbors are generally good people but we do have hillbillies next door who have five cars and insist on parking their excess vehicles in front of our house.
Pros
- Nice walking paths
- Quiet town
- Not too populated
Cons
- Loose dogs
- Rude neighbors
- Minimal choices for restaurants
