"A small town nicely located for easy commuting"
Frederick has a population just over 8,500 and is located along the I-25 corridor west of Denver. This location makes it easy for residents to commute to many of the larger cities both north and south of the town. The town has a large percentage of families living here, with about 80% of the households having kids, which is around 20% more than the average of the state of Colorado. The homes here are a mix of old with charm and character, and more modern with a newer feel. 'Downtown' Frederick has a very charming, but small, array of buildings and old churches.
The town's demographics are a White population with a strong Hispanic presence. The average median income in Frederick is $81,664 which is much higher than the state average of $55,430. Median housing prices here are roughly $10,000 lower than the state average.
The town has several parks, recreation sites, a rec center, and even a wetland park which offers fishing and numerous spots to view nature and the local animal inhabitants. The Bella Rosa Golf Course located in Frederick is a regulation nine hole golf course open to the public.
While there are no big shopping centers or hospitals here, access to these and more are all within a very short drive. As this is primarily a family oriented community there isn't much nightlife. There are several restaurants and fast food places here, but most of them are chains.
The schools here are pretty average when it comes to state testing although with some recent changes in administration there may be an improvement in this area in the near future. Many of the parents seem happy with the schools and are supportive of the staff. There is a relatively new high school which is very nice. It sports a huge gymnasium, good sized weight room, and has a display case with trophies dating back to the early 50s.

"Frederick Colorado - Overall Review"
We moved to Frederick 15 years ago and love the area. It's primary draw for us was the easy access to I-25 while maintaining a small town feel. We can reach Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins within @30 min. commute. Frederick is considered part of the "tri-town area" along with Firestone and Dacono. Frederick is situated in the middle of the three towns. There are many ammenities in the tri-town area, including several grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, convenience stores, automotive services and banks. People are friendly and most are acquainted either through schools, an active business community and/or the excellent recreation programs. Cost of living is low compared to surrounding areas. Since the tri-town is located on the edge of Weld county, we have some of the lowest tax rates in the state. We do lack some public transportation and medical facility options. But both can be reached within @10-15 min drive. We have a great new Urgent Care facility through Childrens Hospital located in the tri-town area.
Pros
- Small town charm
- Easy access to I-25
- Community involvment and support
Cons
- Must drive a short distance to access public transportation
- 15 min drive to full service hospital (but childrens urgent care close by)
- Very little nightlife activity
