"Lynchburg leaves something to be desired."

Lynchburg is a town in that undesirable category between the middle of nowhere and a city. It lacks decent shopping, the town mall lacks many popular stores and if you want to really shop, you have to drive at least an hour is not more. Also, there are few places to eat out, most are chain restaurants, and the only 'fancy' restaurants in town have poor quality food and atmosphere. However, downtown offers some better attractions, more 'hip' restaurants and a nice farmers market on Saturdays in the warmer months. The Lynchburg City Schools, the primary county for this area, are poorly rated and generally not satisfactory, but some of Lynchburg falls into the Bedford County zone with Jefferson Forest High, Forest Middle, and Forest Elementary which are much better- keep this in mind when buying a home. I would also recommend checking the VA Sex Offender Registry before buying a home as some areas in Lynchburg have a high concentration of these offenders. Also, watch out for the run-down pockets in the area when buying a home. I would recommend Lynchburg mostly for families with children and perhaps couples without children in downtown area. However, for more elderly couples or those families with children I would recommend looking in Forest first, a more rural suburb of Lynchburg. Also, there a quite a few colleges in this area, leading me to recommend it for students.

"A great place for a well-balanced life"

Lynchburg might not have the razmataz of the big city life but it has all the comforts that one could wish for and more importantly it has everything that is needed for a peaceful and healthy life for you and your family.

The weather is just wonderful and the health facilities are great. The streets and neighborhoods are safe and the menace of traffic congestion is unheard of. It's got an airport and a private university that is fairly good. It's called the city of seven hills. Need not say anything further about how beautiful it is. It's got a mall, a few nice theaters and all the big brands that you might want. Utilities are great and even though the public transport is not extensive its enough to get you around town comfortably.
