"is our city safe??"

its dirty ....filled with trash. scummy people and bums that live off the street and other people!!! and the people who actually make a living here have to pay for those who dont!...and the people are not that dfriendly at all so i dont recommend this town for anyone....STAY AWAY!!!!

Steven G. Liggett Most of those bums are just the usual migrants looking for work along SR-79 and such. Some are townies who can't find jobs either. That whole problem will clear up when the economy gets better. The city services have been a little slack lately but times are tight. I expect Newark to recover faster than most places, unfortunately so do a lot of people coming here looking for work. We just need to be sure the police keep them herded over to the East End at night.
