"A gorgeous little town northwest of Monument"
Palmer Lake is a gorgeous area just northwest of Monument. This town has just over 2,400 residents who live up next to the rolling hills at the base of the mountains. This quiet, peaceful area has a calm, serene lake on the eastern side, as well as Monument Creek running through it. There is a train that goes through town near the eastern side of the area.
The majority of the residents here are white (88%), followed by Hispanic (7%). The median household income is $61,085 which is about $6,000 more than the state average. Homes in Palmer Lake cost about $44,000 more than the average home price in Colorado. There is very little crime in this town and the town only employs 5 full time police officers. The most common industry here is professional, scientific, and technical services.
Overall I think this would be a wonderful place to live. The schools the children here go to are all highly rated, there is almost no crime, the scenery is beautiful, and there are nice homes. I would certainly consider living here if I were moving this direction.
