"A Small Town along the Sandusky River"
Tiffin is a small town of about 25,000 people, located along the Sandusky River. Toledo is about an hour to the North, and Columbus is about an hour and a half to the South. There are some good local eateries, such as TJ Willies, Napoli's Pizza, AJ's Heavenly Pizza, Carmie's, and ShellShuckers. Local bars include Clover Club, DP's, and Madison Street Tavern. Each of these bars provides a night life on the weekends. Having lived here all my life, I would suggest starting out your weekend night at ShellShuckers and then heading into Clover Club or DP's.
There are two Colleges located in Tiffin, Heidelberg College and Tiffin University. Both are excellent Schools; TU concentrates more on business and law, while Heidelberg is more focused on the arts and education.
Local High Schools include Tiffin Columbian, a large school of appx. 2000 students, and Tiffin Calvert, a much smaller private school of appx. 250 students. Both are excellent schools that offer numerous choices for its students, as well as tremendous athletic programs.
Historic Hedges-Boyer Park provides a great outdoor facility for exercise and entertainment. Every year the park hosts the 2nd largest High School Cross Country Meet in the U.S., drawing teams from all over the state of Ohio and surrounding states.
The only downfall of Tiffin is that there is not a whole lot of jobs available, which is making it hard to support your family. Most people who can't get a job in Tiffin have to travel to Findlay, OH, or surrounding smaller cities.
Overall, Tiffin is a nice place to raise a family. Crime rate is really low and it is a pleasant place to reside in.
