"Andorra - Classy Environs"
Andorra is a traditional suburban neighborhoods sitting on the border of Philadelphia and Montgomery County. Andorra is a French name for a region between France and Spain.
In Philadelphia, as the elevation becomes higher, the neighborhood becomes greener and features the makings of suburban life. There is a shopping mall and a movie theatre. Incomes are high and property values strong. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer survey, during the past five years, the value of properties has risen some 57 percent from 400,000 in 2005 to 630,000 in 2011. Many of the owner-occupied homes have upwards to 3 bedrooms.
The population is nearly 90 percent Caucasian. There are single-digit representations for Asian, Hispanic and African American residents. The median income ranges to $55,000 plus.
Rumor has it that controversial Eagles quarterback has acquired a multi-million dollar home in the area. All eyes are pealed on the mega home.
Ridge Avenue and Henry Avenue are the two main thorofares. There is need to own a car because of the distance and snowy winters can make travelling treacherous.
The Philadelphia Cricket Club, Ace Golf Club, and the Sunnybrook Country Club are nearby. Several stone churches for Catholics and Episcopalians grace the area.

"Pretty and pretty expensive"
Andorra is another one of those neighborhoods that makes you feel like you are not in Philadelphia. Often considered part of the Roxborough neighborhood, Andorra is located on the bluffs which allows for a delightful view of the city. These large hills also make parking interesting as well.
The northwest neighborhood is much more like a suburban area than any other part of Philadelphia. It has its own strip mall, parking lots and plenty of off street parking. The housing options range from large apartment complexes to single and double family houses, most of which have small yards and a few with garages.
Andorra is a family oriented neighborhood; it’s safe and quiet with plenty of activities for individuals of all ages. It is, however, one of the more expensive neighborhoods to live in but that’s kind of the price you pay for the luxury of safety in Philadelphia.
Most of the houses in Andorra are owner occupied with very few renters. It is also a predominantly white neighborhood.
The neighborhood is also easily accessibly my public transportation so if you work further in the city you don’t have to drive and deal with parking. Buses and Regional Rail are both available in Andorra.

"A beautful place to live"
Andorra is a neighborhood that lies to the Northwest of Philadelphia and is adjacent to Roxborough. It occupies one of the highest points in the city and overlooks the Schuylkill River. Andorra was named after a small country by the same name which is situated in the Pyrenees between France and Spain.
Andorra is the last neighborhood in the city you will come to before entering Montgomery County. Although it is still within the city limits, Andorra resembles a suburban neighborhood more than a section of the city and includes many single or double-family houses set back from the street on large plots of land. Most of the architecture found in Andorra is rather beautiful and resembles the Gothic architecture found in Eastern Europe.
One of the most well known sites in Andorra is St. Mary’s Episcopal Church which is a gothic style cathedral. Due to a lack of funds in the 1930’s, the cathedral was never completed. The Andorra Branch of the Free Library of Philadelphia is located at 705 East Cathedral Road at Henry Avenue.
Housing prices in Andorra are higher than most neighborhoods in the city, but it is worth it to live there. Andorra is a beautiful area and is perfect for young couples
