"Just an average neighborhood in LA"
In the busy bustling city of LA, it is refreshing to find an area that is quieter and is a nice place to settle down. While a few reports of Lakeview area being unsafe, other school reports and neighborhood reports say otherwise. This area is pretty average in each aspect. One place I do recommend in the Lake View Terrance area is on VanNuts Boulevard- a great and charming Italian restaurant, the Oliva restaurant. Amazing food, and a great time!

"A More than One Horse Town"
Lake View Terrace is small diverse community that stretches north of the Hansen Dam, just east of Pacoima. I have to say where it is, because you rarely hear anything about this secluded enclave otherwise. Pacoima and their crime problems tend to suck up all the air. This sprawled out little community pretty much keeps to itself, which is probably a good thing given the problems of its surrounding areas.
It is pretty dull in most of Lake View Terrace, but on its western edge, where it borders with Pacoima, there have been three murders since 2007. You can bet that they were spill over from the neighboring community’s gang issues. At the heart of Lake View, however, these sorts of problems drop off and you will get a semi-rural sort of area.
The homes here are older ranch houses from the 50’s and 60’s like you get in Sylmar and San Fernando. The difference here is that the community is on an incline so you get a more interesting look to the neighborhood and a bit of a view in some places. Its proximity to the hills also means that Lake View is in threat of burning down every fire season, but that is the cost of living in this kind of an area.
There isn’t much to do or buy in Lake View unless you are the outdoorsy type. It is the sort of eccentric place where it is not unusual to see someone on horseback that Jack-n-the-Box drive-thru. You also have the Hansen Dam reservoir just to south which is great place for hiking and for golf.
All-in-all, a good little hide-away town, stuck in its own little dimension of the Valley.
