Lazy Brook / Timbergrove
"Lazies here"
The Lazybrook/Timber Grove area is located just inside the 610 Loop in Northwest Central Houston. The area is close to The Heights, and is convenient to Hwy 290 and Interstate 10. The main streets traveled in this neighborhood are West 11th street, West 18th street, and Ella Boulevard. The real estate listed in this area is quite affordable compared to other areas of Houston, since it is an older area of town with smaller homes.
There are quite a few fast food and strip center restaurants in this area, but for dine in eating you will want to travel a little further down 290 or I-10. Northwest Mall is located here, and is still open, however many of the stores once operating here are now gone. There is a carnival that sets up here a couple of times per year. The area is fairly busy, especially at peak traffic times, and can be quite congested and difficult to exit in certain places. Unless you really need to live next to Loop 610, I would continue searching for a residence in the many other areas of Houston.
