"An established area with well manicured lawns and great schools."
Meadow Hills is a pleasant area which leads you to believe you are farther away from things than you really are. Located just east of Cherry Creek Reservoir, this development is family and retirement friendly. For being so centrally located, it is peaceful and quiet with wide streets and plenty of parking. The neighbors all seem friendly and many give a friendly wave as you're driving by. The area lies within the Cherry Creek School District which is nationally recognized for excellence in academics as well as sports.
Getting to Meadow Hills is easy from most directions. Since the Colorado Department of Transportation both widened and improved South Parker Road, it is a much more pleasant area to drive around. The new exit and entrance ramps to I-225 have changed things considerably. There is still traffic during peak times, but the flow of traffic has dramatically improved, saving time and frustration. Traffic on East Quincy does get a little backed up at times, but traveling on East Hampden Avenue seems to be good.
There are only a few restaurants in this area, but due to it's location there are numerous options for dining and shopping within only minutes.
Directly across Parker Road is Cherry Creek State Park, which has horseback riding, camping, boating, fishing, cycling, and nature paths. The reservoir has a beach for swimmers in the summer and many events take place here, such as the yearly "Tri-for-a-Cure Triathlon." It's a great place to take the family or just go to exercise outdoors.
Overall, if you're looking for a family friendly neighborhood with excellent schools and lots to do nearby, Meadow Hills is a place you should look into.
