"Affordable Older Homes"
Meadow Homes is the neighborhood just to the north of the Cambridge Park neighborhood. Highway 242 forms its northern border. The homes here are typically smaller, older and perched along narrower streets than Cambridge Park. The vast majority of homes here were built in the 1940s and 50s.
Home prices run from as low as $75K (I actually saw that one home sold for an unbelievably low $23K—its estimated value being 5 times that much) to as high as $760K (though less than 10% have sold for over $400 K in the last 9 months). The median is around $225K.
In terms of shopping, you are basically within walking distance of the Sun Valley Mall and all the surrounding entertainments.
You could also practically walk to the local college, so, in theory, you don’t even really need a car. Although in practical terms, everyone has one of these.
Unfortunately schools here are not very good—in fact, they are pretty lousy. It is probably safe in terms of crime for the most part, however.
Overall, it is not the most attractive of neighborhoods but you can definitely find some deals here right now which might make it okay.
