"Buses can't swim"
Most of this area went under water during the flood back in May, and that brought many of us to a standstill. That long lot between Nestor Street and the Cumberland River is the Metro Transit Authority’s bus garage and main offices.
Nashville was without city bus service for 3-4 days, and then we were on a limited schedule for another couple of weeks. Cities from around the region loaned us buses to help us out, and some of those are still here. (I saw a Cincinatti bus downtown just last week.) MTA waived all fares until they could resume their regular schedule.
Strangely enough, one little section of New Omohundro appears to have escaped the flood damage. That cone-shaped bit bounded by railroad tracks on the North, by a curved section of track on the East, and by I-24/40 on the South appears to have escaped unscathed. I can only assume that the grade around the railroad tracks helped halt the waters.
New Omohundro is mostly older industrial, so it already had a decided lack of greenery before the flood came through.
The public transportation here is, of course, passable. The number 44 and the number 25 run out to the MTA garage. The number 6 goes up and down Lebanon Road.

"A Great Neighborhood Choice"
Located in the Donelson area of Nashville, the area is located near Hermitage Ave and I40. The area is home to individuals of Nashville who want to live in the city but not directly in the city. The area is quiet and still has a number of stores that you can shop in on a daily basis.
Donelson is a quiet subdivision of Nashville that does not have a high crime rate. The schools in the area are some of the best and the local YMCA is one of the biggest in the area. The area is near the airport and has a large number of five star hotels of Nashville. Many of the local businesses thrive from all the tourists and vacationers who travel to Nashville on a daily basis.
The area has a number of shopping centers and restaurants that can be visited daily. When looking to shop, the local Kmart offers daily specials and deals as well as the local Walmart that is not to far away in Hermitage. If you are looking for a good deal on an all you can eat buffet, the local Ryans and Golden Corral offers nightly specials on different menu items.

"Historic landmark"
New Omohundro, a area bounded by Hermitage Ave., the Cumberland River, and I-24 is near the Donelson area. It is also home to the little known but appreciated Omohundro Water Treatment Plant. It is considered an architectural gem. It was called into action after the flood of 2010 when Nashville's other water treatment plant was out of commission. The gray lady performed splendidly.
Right now, I am not familiar with any eateries or places of interest in the area. But I will keep on the lookout and will post more here. Watch this space.
