"Go to school, work, and live all in the same place"
It seems like an impossibility in much of the rest of the city, but North Cleveland Park seems to contain everything. Some of the most high profile employers are here, as of course is the University of the District of Columbia. On top of that, the housing is lovely without being unattainable in price. It's also not far from American University, or retail and restaurant mecca Friendship Heights.
It seems like just about anybody can live here, from young adults to young families to those looking for a reasonable place to retire. Everything is right at your feet here, and if you ever get tired you can easily move about the rest of the city.

"Outstanding"
I absolutely love this neighborhood, which is located in the northwest section of the city near the University of the District of Columbia. North Cleveland Park is one of those neighborhoods with lots to offer its residents including stores and restaurants, upscale single family and multifamily homes. In addition, you will find the Auguste Montessori School and Sheridan School located here as well. Public recreational facilities are lacking, but the neighborhood offers private alternatives. Public transportation is excellent with numerous Metro Bus stops located here as well as the Van Ness-UDC and Tenleytown Metro stations being located nearby. Dedicated green space can be found at the Peter Muhenberg Memorial as well as nearby Fort Reno Park. A negative to living here is that parking can be challenging particularly close to Connecticut Avenue N.E. and the areas near UDC and the foreign embassies.
The neighborhood is relatively safe mainly due to the heavy local and federal Police presence around UDC and the adjacent foreign embassies off of Van Ness Street N.W. As always check the most recent crime statistics and make an informed decision as to the crime risk in any neighborhood. I really like this neighborhood and would love to live here as it has everything I am looking for.

"the world at your doorstep"
North Cleveland Park is a unique neighborhood. It has several embassies, including Austria and the UAE, along its streets. Then, it has apartment buildings, condos, single family homes and even some nice office buildings. Needless to say, North Cleveland Park is quite a diverse area. There is a really nice international flavor due to the embassies, and often the ambassador and or embassy staff live in North Cleveland Park. One result of this is that there are ethnic restaurants from nearly every spot on the globe, making this a paradise for the adventuresome eater.
North Cleveland Park is also a really posh place to live, with some of those houses selling for a million dollars plus. Nearly all the cheaper housing is gone, and rents are sky high. The presence of foreign dignitaries means that there is considerable security, because these distinguished individuals have to be kept safe. Needless to say, nobody stays around very long if they are up to no good.
There is a very large Metro station in North Cleveland Park, so if you don’t work in your neighborhood it is easy to make your commute every morning. In addition, plenty of shops and even full sized grocery stores are close by, allowing you to purchase groceries and other needs on the way home.

"An International Flavor"
North Cleveland Park is a small neighborhood with a big company in its life. Located in northwest Washington, D.C., it is that home of Intelsat, and major player in internet security and a major employer for area residents. North Cleveland Park is also the home of the University of the District of Columbia. Because of these two large businesses, it is has its own local metro station, allowing people to get back and forth to work easily.
In spite of these businesses, North Cleveland Park is still a residential neighborhood. In fact, people come from all over the world to live here, usually in one of the 19 embassies located in the community. There are also a number of single family homes and a few high end multiple family residences. Residents tend to be young, single and wealthy. As they get married and have children, they often leave the area for something more suburban.
Still, North Cleveland Park is a lovely, comfortable place to live, as President Cleveland himself discovered when he built a summer house here for his new bride during his first term in office. Because there are so many embassies nearby, it is also a very safe place to live, though traffic can be a bear when an international leader throws a party.
