"Quiet Crown of Venice"
North of Rose in a neighborhood on the northern end of Venice, situated east of Main Street, south of Dewey Street, west of the Santa Monica, and north of Rose, of course. The area is just inland from the beach and all the action that goes on there. On the other side of Main Street, rows of apartments have been carefully placed so that they stare across the street.
Many of the homes along the stretch of streets between Dewey and Rose, are fairly banal ranch houses of the kind that you would not notice if they were not for the their location just blocks from the beach. Their location however, is what makes some landlords realize that they can charge much more than usual. The rental prices thus vary quite a bit. For example, one 2 bedroom on this stretch of streets was listed by PadMapper as going for about $1400/month, while a nearby shabby two bedroom is listed at over $3K. This discrepancy has everything to do with landlords trying to cash in on the Venice brand.
For those living in the area, Rose Blvd. is definitely the place for eating out and buying things. Along Rose you will find restaurants like Flake, hairdressing , and clothing stores like DNA clothing, or a beauty salon like the Tea Room. You can also find a guitar source, and even an art gallery named Cave Gallery. There is even a small film studio on Rose.
Overall, however, this is a relatively quiet neighbor, excellent for Venice residents who would want to raise a family.
