"Yacht Club and business parks"

Sierra Point is a flat, bayside community harboring the ritzy Sierra Point Yacht Club and a handful of large commercial buildings. The district is a rather small community, encompassing about three residential blocks. Demographically speaking, the district is located within the greater city of Brisbane. It is bounded by US Route 101 and the vast San Francisco Bay.

The neighborhood is most known for the Sierra Point Yacht Club. The dock accommodates over a hundred well-maintained boats/yachts from all shapes and sizes. The area is also accompanied by a clubhouse, which hosts a couple events for the small organization. Just inland, you’ll come across a handful of business parks and large commercial buildings. On Sierra Point Parkway, there are two, large modern multi-use buildings, one of them home to Rotten Tomatoes (the movie review website). The street is also lined with tall, beautiful palm trees and lush green landscaping. Elsewhere, one of Walmart’s business headquarters is situated along Marina Boulevard. Both company buildings are surrounded by large employee parking lots.

For visitors, the Radisson Hotel usually accommodates many SFO travelers and those visiting the yacht club. Also, Baysider Cafe, Mangiare and Xebec bar dining are the only dining options within the neighborhood. If you travel just a bit west, you’ll approach the foothills of the San Bruno Mountain State Park.

"A Perfect Mix Walmart and Yachts"

Sierra Point is Brisbane’s other main business center (Crocker Park on the northern end of town being the other). It is basically a large office park with a yacht club on its eastern end. The five large multi-story office buildings that make their homes here (one of which used to be home to IGN—the vanguard of websites that brought us Rotten Tomatoes and a number of video game related websites) are hosts to such companies as the Bay Area headquarters of Walmart, and Gateway Credit Agency among others. One can also see that the ground has been cleared in another space on this abutment, quite possibly to prepare for a sixth office building.

There are more hotels and office buildings to the south as well just past the city limit in South San Francisco, which makes a perfect locale for setting a business headquarters since you will have a more than adequate amount of office space and hotels for any visiting clients. (Not to mention the proximity of SFO.)

The yacht club on the eastern end is also a nice touch for the rich clients who may come for a visit.
Pros
  • Good Offices
  • Nice Yacht Club
  • Close to Hotels and more Offices
Cons
  • Kind of Snooty
  • A Bit on the Ugly Side
