"Beautiful..."
..but not as scenic as one may expect. Skyline Boulevard does have the advantage of being nestled in the redwoods and madrones, and being accessible to EVERY state park, but the trees also block any vistas of oceans or valleys. While lookouts do exist, you will spend more time driving through trees than alongside cliffs.
It is somewhat twisty, but not as bad as the access roads (9, 84, etc.), given that it runs along the ridgeline of the Santa Cruz mountains. The easiest access is via 17 in Los Gatos. Cell phone access is spotty, but does exist in some places depending on who your carrier is, and the cost of living anywhere in the area is through the roof. Also, be aware that if you live here you will have to likely drive 20 minutes or more to get to the nearest grocery store.
But if you are okay with being isolated in such a populated and expensive area, the scenery and seclusion just may be worth it. Otherwise, if you want a scenic drive, take the 1.

"Public pool and park"
There is a water park with sand to play in for kids too. Stafford park is a big park with play areas for kids and slides. The pools are open in summer with a toddlers area. There is also a dog area. There’s a picnic area and a bar b que pits. There are restrooms and an indoor area that is mostly for rental for events. The park is busiest in the summer. The pool has lap times and general swim times. There are plenty of trees around for shade.
There is plenty of food over on El Camino for dinning or take out to the park. The Italian pasta place is good if you want to avoid fast food.

"Theater in the woods"
Atmos theatre is the theater in the woods. It’s a great theater. There are a few stages and areas for performances but one main one. The sitting area is old style wood bleachers for the amphitheater. There’s redwood trees all around and trails through. There’s a pretty creek there too and some of the seating is carved out of stumps. You hike to each performance spot. It’s so fun the show hardly matters but they have great performances and choose interesting plays. But there are no pets allowed. It’s a lovely setting so be sure you take some food and picnic too.
Neil Young also lives along this road.
