Is LaGrange Really a Lot Like Andy Griffith's Mayberry?
After six years of living here, I find it to be an incredibly friendly place. People go out of their way to look out for each other. They look after each other's children, even if they don't know the parents. If I slip on the ice or fall off my bicycle, someone is there to help me up and see what else they can do before it's sunk in that I've fallen.
I have felt like an ogre complaining or negatively commenting to a clerk or waitstaff person. They seem to take it so personally, and apologize so genuinely I end up regretting I said a word.
Is it true? Did Aunt Bee retire here?
