St. Paul Park is a city in the county of Washington, in the state of Minnesota, USA. It has a population of 5,279 as of 2010. It is stated on the Mississippi River, 5 miles downstream from Saint Paul. The total area of the city is 3.58 square miles of which 0.59 square miles is water and 2.99 square miles is land. US Route 10 and US Route 61 which are parallel through the town served as the main routes in the community.
St. Paul Park was founded in 1887 on the banks of Mississippi and was incorporated in 1909. It became a city in 1974 by state statue. Today, the city is a friendly community of welcoming residents. It is rich in parks and considers its heritage as its pride. The city annually commemorates its great heritage with a celebration in the month of August, bringing in more than ten thousand visitors to share its pride.
The city has nine beautiful parks waiting to be enjoyed by the residents and its visitors. There is always something available for everyone in the community at any time of the year. St. Paul Park offers recreational facilities and serene parks.
Heritage Park is one of its beautiful parks which are a place for people of all ages. It has everything to offer to entertain people. It has tennis courts, ballfields, a badminton court, horse shoe pits, half court basketball, seasonal football and sand volleyball.
Aside from that, it also has a building that can be rented for gatherings and meetings, a huge pavilion with electrical service, drinking fountains, bathrooms, picnic area, benches and grills. It features a wonderful playground for kids. This multi-use facility is accessible as well for handicaps. The park is simply geared for an entire day of enjoyment and fun.
Other parks in the city of St. Paul Park include Abdella Memorial Park which encourages activity with a half mile paved walking path and tennis courts, Dingle Park specifically designed for toddlers, Axelrod Park which is handicapped accessible for several hours of great fun, Lions Levee Park that has boat access to the magnificent Mississippi River, Sittlow Park which is one of the newest parks in the city offering a range of amenities for children playing in the area, Riverside Park located on the backwaters of the Mississippi River and has nature trails, Whitbread Memorial Park designed for teens and offers challenging activities and finally, Veteran’s Memorial Park intended as a tribute to those who served the country.
The great array of parks in the city offer recreation and fun to people of all ages. The residents in the city can choose from any of these parks according to their needs.
